eLearning Introduction

March 31, 2020

Dear Parents/Guardians:

Over the next few weeks we will be working on different fitness skills for e-Learning in Physical Education (PE). There are activities listed under each day that students should participate in and practice throughout the week. Once these activities are completed, fill out the GOOGLE FORM at the end of each day for your participation grade. We encourage family members to participate as well. I will also be updating a link called boredom busters that family members can try together. These are not required, but a great way to break up the day and to get everyone moving.

60 minutes EVERYDAY (required)!!! Students should get 60 minutes of physical activity each day. The time can be broken up into minutes throughout the day and does not have to be completed all at the same time. Get your kids outside to play on days that are beautiful. Read outside on a blanket, go for a family walk/bike ride, play games together and enjoy activities outside.

Google Form (required) – We will be using a Google Form to assess Physical Education activities and participation during e-Learning. These should only take a few seconds to fill out. If you have technology issues using Google Forms, please contact Mrs. Bornino at [email protected]. For students who DO NOT have internet access or who are having trouble with Google Forms you can write your results using the date and activity name and answer the question on the weekly agenda.

Boredom busters – Do you and your kids have “Cabin Fever?” If you need to find some activities to get the wiggles out, please check out the Boredom Buster activity sheet. If you come across a fun fitness activity, feel free to email me and I’d be glad to add it to the boredom busters list.

Family Fitness – Activities completed together can create long lasting family memories.

Daily Schedule – Creating a daily schedule can help students’ behavior and mental well-being. Kids are creatures of habit and knowing what to expect can help them prepare for the next day. We have daily routines throughout the school day. You might think about sitting down with your child and creating a daily e-learning schedule. Make sure you provide Physical Activity (wiggle breaks or brain energizers) throughout the day.

Thank you for taking the time to help get your child moving. Stay healthy, wash your hands and just get moving!!! Tell your kiddos I miss them very much, but I look forward to seeing all of their results from their weekly challenges.

 Best wishes,

Mrs. Andrea Bornino
